I am warm and playful. I provide a non judgmental experience and make every effort to foster ease in order to combat our high stakes, high pressure society, and to bust myths about what healing can look like. I believe the safe haven of the therapy room can and should foster acceptance and tolerance.
Sessions are 50 minutes in length. I leave time between sessions so no one is rushed. Tele-therapy, is also offered.
It takes courage to identify mental-health goals and then focus on them with sustained attention. Developing the ability to work towards a goal over time is fulfilling, develops hope, builds skills and lets us plan instead of reacting. If it is time for you, your child or your family to chart a path forward, I would be honored to be a part of the journey.
I am committed to social, racial and economic justice in my practice. My goal is to be an inclusive, anti-racist, queer-affirming therapist who welcomes all people, abilities, religions, body sizes, races, genders, countries of origin and sexual orientations. In my sessions, I invite explicit discussion of how institutions and systems shape all of us, myself included. As a white therapist I am committed to unrooting and examining my own biases and actively work to address the myriad of ways I have been socialized.
Along with a degree in Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies (formerly Women’s Studies) and Political Science from Oberlin College and a masters of social work from The Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, I hold an advanced certificate in pediatric palliative care from the University of Washington school of Medicine. I am presently receiving further training in the relationship between nutrition and psychology and learning specific nutritional protocols to support those in recovery from substance misuse.
My past academic work has included peer reviewed published research and articles on yoga for pain and anxiety for children with cancer and children with Sickle Cell Anemia hospitalized for a vaso-occlusive pain crisis (VOC).

A Randomized Trial of Yoga for Children Hospitalized With Sickle Cell Vaso-Occlusive Crisis
Before entering private practice I worked in a variety of settings including pediatric hospitals, substance misuse clinics and family-based treatment centers. I also worked for the State of NY as an Early Intervention provider.
